Chuck Brown’s Judging Master Course is a professional course designed to teach you the skills necessary to become a certified West Coast Swing judge and/or to facilitate your continuing judging education.

* This course will not guarantee that you are hired as a professional judge; however, upon successful completion of this course, your name will be included on Chuck’s International Certified Judges List that will be sent out to all event directors and chief judges.

Learning the information on what and how to judge is one thing, it’s even more important to practice! Students will be practicing their skills a lot using mock judging. You will also be able to mock judge, in a real live situation, at any event where I am the Head Judge. 

We will be practicing using both paper and automated scoring methods.

About Your Instructor

Chuck Brown is a current Champion level dance competitor with over 25 years of experience. He is recognized as a top international dance instructor/coach, head judge, The Open Certified Primary Judge, NASDE Circuit Judge, DJ, emcee, event promoter – The After Party “TAP”, international community builder and dance business consultant. Chuck has taught in over 45 countries, he practically lives on the road dedicating his life to building and training International WCS communities, events, and dancers worldwide.

Chuck has been the head judge at over 200 events worldwide and has helped train hundreds of judges and competitors. It’s a very passionate head judge and is known for his laid back but intense judging approach.

His dance training includes West Coast Swing, Hip-Hop, House, Jazz, Contemporary, Ballet, Blues, Carolina Shag, Lindy Hop, Salsa, Bachata, Hustle, Zouk, Kizomba, Country, African and others. He is a student of dance first; always training to improve his knowledge and skills.

When he is not dancing, he works at Fjällraven, outfitting people for the outdoors. He loves hiking long trails (@thetraildancer), exploring the world, sipping coffee at amazing coffee shops, and watching his favorite movies/shows: The Avatar – The Last Airbender (and Korra), the MCU, Pirates of the Caribbean, Harry Potter, Lord or the Rings, Star Trek, Star Wars, SouthPark, and Family Guy.
